Christ Church of Easton
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 16:18-20

The primary objective of  Habitat for Humanity of Talbot & Dorchester County (HFHT&DC) is to construct simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with volunteers, donors and God’s people in need.  We strive toward this objective by creating an avenue for hard-working families from Talbot and Dorchester Counties to become property tax-paying homeowners.  Since 1992, we have helped over 40 families achieve their dream of homeownership.  Thanks to privately donated funds and volunteer labor, we sell homes at cost with 25-30 year no interest mortgages to families who are assessed based on their ability to repay the mortgage, need for decent housing and their willingness to partner with us.  The families we serve earn between 40-60% of the median household income as determined by HUD ($64,700, 2006).

A second program objective, for which we take great pride, is our ability to advocate for our mission among community leaders, government officials, individuals, corporations and small businesses, community and school groups, foundations and faith based organizations like Christ Church, so that an entity larger than our staff and Board alone is working toward elimination of substandard housing.

A third program objective is to recruit, retain and gratefully acknowledge our valuable volunteer corps so that we may continue to keep costs down and engage more of the community at large in our work.

And finally, we aim to provide support and advice to current homeowners and partner families as well as unsuccessful partner family applicants who, for whatever reason at that time, do not qualify for our program, in hopes that they will be eligible in the future.  Christ Church collectively as well as individual parishioners have shown wonderful commitment to our mission in the past (especially during Apostles Build 2006) and we hope to foster increased involvement in the future.  To learn more about our organization, please call 410-820-6186 and visit
